The Highway team was formed this year in order give the top under 13 football players from the Highway region the opportunity to represent their province.
The proud manager of the KwaZulu-Natal Invitational u/13 team, Knowledge Vilakazi, who is also a teacher and coach at Highbury Preparatory School, said, 'The provincial selection process was tough, as there was plenty of talent from which to choose. We are honoured to have four players from Highway selected, and we wish them best of luck for their upcoming challenge, where KwaZulu-Natal is represented again for the first time after a decade long absence.'
'Thanks to our kind sponsors, WearCheck, the Highway team practices regularly with smart soccer kit, and the team was able to attend the provincial soccer trials.'
The Highway soccer team is made up of 15 top soccer players who were selected from several schools in the Highway area of KwaZulu-Natal, including Highbury, Pitlochry, Forest View, Hillcrest, Lyndhurst, Thomas More, Winston Park, Hillcrest Christian Academy and Kainon.
